Great Portland Estates PLC - London-based office space developer and landlord - Signs 40 new leases and renewals worth GBP19.0 million in annual rent in the three months that ended September 30, the company's financial second quarter. Great Portland says the leases were signed at 4.1% ahead of estimated rental value. It has a further GBP9.8 million in annual rent under offer at 6.7% ahead of estimated rental value. "With high-quality space increasingly scarce across our core central London markets, we are well positioned to maintain this momentum," says Chief Executive Toby Courtauld. Read More

IN BRIEF: Great Portland Estates pre-lets managed space at City Tower

Great Portland Estates PLC - London-based office space developer and landlord - Pre-lets an initial floor of its fully managed workspace at City Tower in the City of London ahead of completion in early 2027. The lease is for over 4,300 square feet in total, and Great Portland Estates says a further floor is under offer. The company doesn't name the tenant, but its say the deal reflects demand from growth businesses in the software solutions and artificial intelligence-led sectors. Great Portland Estates says it is reconverting a further 38,000 square feet of space to fully managed workspaces. Leasing & Flex Workspaces Director Simon Rowley says: "Pre letting fully managed space ahead of completion is rare and a clear endorsement of both City Tower and the strength of our offer. We are seeing strong demand from customers seeking high quality, flexible workspace in the heart of the City, giving us real confidence in the building's leasing trajectory." Read More

Saga PLC - London-based provider of products and services for people over 50 - Adds two new non-executive directors to its board, both with chief executive officer experience and both of whom worked earlier in their careers for amusement park operator Merlin Entertainments. Justin Platt currently is CEO of pub chain Marston's PLC and previously was chief strategy officer for Merlin. Emma Woods was CEO of noodle restaurant chain Wagamama and previously had worked at Merlin in senior marketing roles. She currently is a non-executive director of office space developer Great Portland Estates PLC. Woods joins the Saga board immediately, while Platt will join on January 11 next year. Read More
