Hargreave Hale AIM VCT PLC - venture capital trust investing primarily in AIM-listed companies - Net asset value at December 31 was 46.40 pence per share, up from 46.34p at September 30 and giving a positive 0.1% total return for first quarter of year to September 30, 2024. Qualifying investments made a 0.68p per share net loss, while non-qualifying investments made a 0.51p net gain. Hargreave Hale AIM VCT PLC - venture capital trust investing primarily in companies listed on the AIM market in London - Net asset value as at November 10 falls 12% to 44.60 pence per share from 50.84p at June 30. "UK consumer confidence remains low, albeit substantially better than at the start of the financial year. However, the September reading did surprise on downside, suggesting that higher interest rates might finally start to take their toll. There are other signs too that tighter monetary policy is starting to have an impact on the economy, with retail sales weakening and unemployment starting to trend higher, albeit from a very low base," the company says.
