Costain Group PLC - Maidenhead, England-based construction and engineering company - Severn Trent PLC has selected Costain to deliver "critical infrastructure upgrades" at its Rugby Newbold Sewage Treatment Works, in a programme valued at around GBP45 million and set to run until 2028. Costain says it will be the principal designer and contractor, "designing and building new facilities and upgrading systems to improve operational resilience and increase the site's feed and storm capacity." Notes that the contract builds on the firms' existing partnership which started with a 2010 AMP5 framework contract. This "has since been extended through the AMP6, AMP7 and AMP8 regulatory cycles, taking the partnership to at least 2030." Read More

Costain Group PLC - Maidenhead, England-based construction and engineering - Wins contract worth GBP100 million over five years to design and build a new M5 motorway junction serving a major gigafactory project in the UK. The contract, awarded under the Regional Delivery Partnership framework, is to deliver junction 22A on the M5 in Somerset. The new junction will provide access to the 'Gravity Smart Campus' and a planned GBP4 billion electric vehicle battery gigafactory, expected to be Britain's largest. The gigafactory is being built by batter maker Agratas Energy Storage Solutions Pte Ltd, part of India's Tata group. As delivery integration partner and main works contractor, Costain will manage design, engineering, programme delivery and supply chain coordination.
