Goodwin, up 9.8% at 19,985p, 12-month range 9,292.59p-28,500.00p. The engineering and refractories company reported record annual profit and said a sales process for its Mechanical Engineering division is progressing well. Trading profit more than doubled to a record GBP77.5 million in the year to April 30, from GBP35.5 million. Goodwin lifted its final dividend to 330 pence from 280p. It expects to return a "substantial" portion of any disposal proceeds to shareholders.

Hays, up 5.5% at 77.15p, 12-month range 28.68p-78.45p. Panmure Liberum lifts the recruiter to 'buy'. "For the first time in a long time, we see an asymmetric risk profile to the upside on forecasts. It’s likely to be a bumpy ride, but we raise our target price from 35p to 100p," analysts at the broker say.

Fresnillo, up 1.9% at 3,231.5p, 12-month range 1,738.68p-4,472.00p. The miner gets a boost from a rampant silver price. Silver surges to USD70.57 an ounce from USD69.12 late Thursday. The metal now sits at its best level since June.

Anglo American, up 1.5% at 4,308p, 12-month range 2,206.39p-4,315.00p. Shares in the miner look set for a sixth successive daily climb and spikes to one-year high.

Computacenter PLC, up 0.6% at 5,660.00p, 12-month range 2,234.00p-5,680.00p. The technology services provider is another stock hitting a 12-month high on Friday. It looks set for its seventh successive gain, taking shares to a record high. Shares had spiked 7.9% on Thursday, boosted by well-received earnings from Nvidia Corp. Computacenter is an Nvidia partner.
