Balfour Beatty PLC - London-based international infrastructure construction firm - Sells Foundry Courtyard, a 536-bed student accommodation building in Glasgow, Scotland, to an undisclosed buyer. After allowing for debt repayment and normal adjusting items, it says net disposal proceeds are GBP26 million. Adds that the sale generates a profit on disposal of GBP24 million. Balfour Beatty says the proceeds are in line with its valuation as of June 27. It continues to expect gains on investment disposals for the full year in the range of GBP30 million to GBP40 million. SSE PLC - Perth, Scotland-based electricity generator - Signs GBP1 billion 12-year bank facility with a group of its relationship banks, led by Bank of America Corp. The facility is back by a GBP800 million financial guarantee from the UK government's National Wealth Fund and is ring-fenced as a 'green loan' to support SSEN Transmission projects. The funds will be used for grid upgrade projects taking place in the the north of Scotland. As part of that work, Orkney island will be connected to the UK transmission grid for the first time, SSE notes. Read More
DCC PLC - Dublin-based provider of sales, marketing and distribution services to the energy sector - Says GBP600 million tender offer to return cash from the sale of its Healthcare arm is fully subscribed. As a result, DCC will buy back 11.6 million shares, about 12% of its total, at the tender offer price of GBP51.70 on Friday. The tender offer is being managed by stockbrokers Davy. DCC completed the GBP1.05 billion sale of DCC Healthcare in September and at the time said it will return GBP800 million to shareholders. DCC started a GBP100 million share buyback in May. The remaining GBP100 million will be paid out in about two years, once DCC has received the final deferred payment from the health unit disposal. Read More
