Smiths Group PLC - London-based engineering firm operating in energy, security and defence, space and aerospace, and general industrial sectors - Plans "shortly" to start the second tranche of the GBP1 billion share buyback it announced in November last year. The current buyback programme follows a GBP500 million buyback completed by Smiths Group last year. The GBP400 million second tranche will be started once the GBP600 million first tranche is completed, the company says.
