Gemfields Group Ltd - London-based miner and marketer of coloured gemstones - Agrees to sell its entire interest in luxury brand Faberge Ltd to SMG Capital LLC for USD50 million. Says USD45 million is payable to Gemfields on completion of the sale, expected on August 28. The remaining USD5 million is payable to Gemfields by way of quarterly royalty payments at a rate of 8% of Faberge's revenue. Gemfields Group Ltd - London-based miner and marketer of coloured gemstones - Says the "G-factor for natural resources" figures for the Kagem emerald mine in Zambia now stand at 20% for the 10-year period from 2015 to 2024, compared to 21% from 2014 to 2023. Over this period, "G-factor" for the Montepuez ruby mine in Mozambique stands at 25%, from 24%. The "G-factor for natural resources" shows the percentage of natural resource revenue paid to the government of the country from which the resource is derived. Read More
Gemfields Group Ltd - London-based miner and marketer of coloured gemstones - Says shareholders have endorsed its plan to raise about USD30 million through the rights issue by offering 556.2 million new shares. Shareholders held an extraordinary general meeting on Monday. Gemfields expects the proposed rights issue to open on May 29 and close on June 12. The rights issue aims to address a near-term working capital shortfall. The company has said the proposed rights issue would be fully underwritten by its two largest shareholders, Assore International Holdings Ltd and Rational Expectations (Pty) Ltd. Gemfields Group Ltd - London-based miner and marketer of coloured gemstones - Kagem Mining Ltd, the Zambian emerald mine in which it owns a 75% interest, will shortly resume open-pit mining to recover premium emeralds. This comes after Gemfields in December last year suspended all mining from January 1 to focus on processing ore from Kagem's ore stockpile, utilising the upgraded processing plant.
