The shares sold represent a 9% stake in ITC Hotels. BAT retains a 6.3% stake in ITC Hotels. BAT had said on Thursday that it planned to sell between 7% and its entire 15.3% stake in ITC Hotels. BAT has had that shareholding in ITC Hotels since its demerger from ITC Ltd, a Kolkata-based conglomerate with businesses across India's consumer goods sector.
