Aquis Exchange PLC - London-based financial markets operator, including pan-European equities trading platform Aquis Markets and UK growth-company market Aquis Stock Exchange - Says it has become the first recognised investment exchange to run a cloud-based matching engine. Effective from Monday this week, says all trades on the Aquis Stock Exchange are being matched and executed successfully while running on Amazon.com Inc's Amazon Web Services. Says: "At a time in which exchanges and exchange technology providers are exploring options to take advantage of the scale and flexibility of the cloud, Aquis has been the first to achieve full migration of the matching engine, the core component used to determine trades, of an [recognised investment exchange] to the cloud." Aquis Exchange PLC - London-based financial markets operator, including pan-European equities trading platform Aquis Markets and UK growth-company market Aquis Stock Exchange - Plans in October to change the proprietary trading rule for the UK and EU trading platforms in its Aquis Markets division. Since 2015, Aquis has banned aggressive non-client proprietary trading. This was aimed at reducing market impact and signalling risk from such activity. Aquis Exchange PLC - London-based exchange services company - Pan-European equities trading division Aquis Markets has launched new 'Dark to Lit Sweep' functionality on its UK and EU platforms. Dark to Lit Sweep allows members to sweep from Aquis Matching Pool dark order book to the lit book with one order. It uses Aquis's low-latency technology to allow members to find the best prices across both books while keeping market impact low. Members can cancel their order if no immediate opposing order is found, or rest on the lit book until a buyer or seller matches with the remainder of the order. Read More

Explains that exchanges typically require downtime at set periods to ensure required actions such as sequence number resets, maintenance and software upgrades are implemented. However, says exchanges running on Aquis Equinox can "guarantee" continuous operation, with no need for shutdown for software upgrades, infrastructure changes, capacity increases, reference data management or member onboarding.
