FTSE 100 & 250 movers in focus:

----------

Halfords Group, down 7.6% at 257.00p, 12-month range 123.80p-282.50p. Shares fall sharply despite backing recently raised profit guidance amid ongoing sales growth. In a trading update, the Redditch, England-based motoring and cycling products retailer on Wednesday says like-for-like sales grew 7.1% in the 26 weeks ending October 2 from a year before, supporting the full-year profit upgrade it made in August. Halfords continues to expect FY27 underlying profit before tax of between GBP55 million and GBP65 million. At the mid-point, this would be up 32% from from GBP45.4 million reported in the 53 weeks ended April 3. Halfords says profit will be weighted towards the first half, reflecting the strong trading.

----------

Domino's Pizza Group, down 3.6% at 228.40p, 12-month range 164.03p-238.29p. Domino's Pizza Group says it is "confident of achieving our earnings expectations" as third quarter sales rose. The master franchise holder in the UK and Ireland for Domino's Pizza Inc says sales in the third quarter of 2026 rose 2.3% year-on-year. Like-for-like growth eased from 5.2% in the second quarter. Orders were 1.4% higher on-year like-for-like, the firm says, easing from a 2.2% stride in the second quarter. Third quarter total system sales were 3.5% higher. "Following the positive benefits of the World Cup at the start of the period, we continued to grow in both August and September," it says. "All major cost categories are fixed for FY26 and into FY27, providing good visibility over the cost base. Combined with our strategic growth initiatives, this gives us confidence in delivering earnings growth in FY27 and beyond. Consequently, the board remains confident of achieving our earnings expectations for the full year, in line with market expectations."

----------

3i Group, down 3.0% at 2,348.00p, 12-month range 1,825.00p-4,497.00p. France is the largest individual market of discount retailer Action, a key holding of 3i. Shares with a French exposure are hit in a negative read across after grocer Carrefour SA cuts guidance. Carrefour now expects an recurring operating margin climb between nil and 15 basis points, compared to a guidance of around 25 bps presented back in February. "In light of the worsening social and security situation, the group considers that consumption trends and operating conditions in France are facing a deterioration," it warns. French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu vowed a "massive" police presence at fresh protests called for the coming weekend, as he faced criticism over the handling of recent street violence. France was rocked on Saturday by some of its worst rioting in recent years, just six months before voters head to the polls to elect a successor to President Emmanuel Macron.

----------

Ithaca Energy, up 2.4% at 300.10p, 12-month range 149.80p-308.60p. Shares are supported by a lofty oil price, which has pushed back above USD110 a barrel, and a sentiment-boosting UK government decision on a North Sea field. The UK government has approved plans to begin drilling in the Jackdaw gas field in the North Sea. The decision by the North Sea Transition Authority ends months of speculation about the future of the project, which owner Adura said could deliver around 6% of UK North Sea gas production. Adura is co-owned by Shell PLC and Equinor. Shell is trading 0.4% higher. A decision on Rosebank, the largest untapped oil field in the North Sea, is being made separately. Adura owns 80% of Rosebank, with Ithaca Energy holding the remainder.
