Mondelez's European Chocolate Chief Barnard Joins Segro Board

6th Feb 2019 09:04

LONDON (Alliance News) - Property developer Segro PLC said on Wednesday it has appointed Mondelez International Inc's Mary Barnard to its board.

Barnard will join Segro as a non-executive director from the start of March.

She is currently the president of Chocolate for Europe at food and beverage firm Mondelez. In the role, she heads up commercial operations for Mondelez's European chocolate business.

Barnard previously worked at Pepsi-Lipton Partnership, and was on the board of Poundland Group PLC between 2015 and 2016. Poundland is now part of Johannesburg-listed Steinhoff International Holdings NV.

Chair Gerald Corbett said: "I am delighted to welcome Mary to the board. Her extensive commercial experience in understanding customers through her various international roles in sales and marketing, together with her knowledge of the operation of the retail supply chain will prove a fantastic asset for Segro as we continue to focus on, and adapt to the ever changing needs and demands of our customers and wider stakeholders."

Shares were down 0.1% on Wednesday morning at 640.60 pence each.
