Invinity Energy revenue jumps but interim loss widens on investment

(Alliance News) - Invinity Energy Systems PLC on Monday reported higher interim revenue but a widened loss as it increased investment in research and development.

The London-based manufacturer of utility-grade energy storage systems said its pretax loss widened to GBP12.1 million in the six months to June 30 from GBP10.6 million a year earlier.

Revenue more than quadrupled to GBP1.1 million from GBP256,000, while revenue & project grant income increased to GBP1.7 million from GBP900,000.

Invinity's gross loss narrowed to GBP727,000 from GBP1.9 million, reflecting improved product margins, lower warranty costs and increased manufacturing activity.

Customer orders nearly tripled to 34.2 megawatt-hours from 11.7 MWh. Following the period end, Invinity secured a 43 MWh order from Dairyland Power Cooperative, taking secured 2026 customer orders to 77.2 MWh.

Invinity said trading remains in line with management expectations for the full year, with revenue recognition expected to be heavily weighted towards the second half.

Its commercial pipeline exceeds 12.5 gigawatt-hours, while its committed order book exceeds 77 MWh for delivery between 2026 and 2028.

Invinity also announced that Chair Neil O'Brien intends to retire and step down from the board after ten years. He will remain in the role while Invinity searches for a successor.

Shares in the company were 3.5% lower at 19.10 pence in London on Monday afternoon.
