IN BRIEF: Johnson Matthey hires ITV chair, former IHG CEO as new chair

Johnson Matthey PLC - London-based speciality chemicals maker - Names Andrew Cosslett as its next chair, replacing Patrick Thomas, who will leave the board at the end of the company's annual general meeting on Thursday. Cosslett currently is chair of television broadcaster and content maker ITV PLC and previously was chair of home improvement products retailer Kingfisher PLC. As an executive, he was chief executive officer of InterContinental Hotels Group PLC. Johnson Matthey CEO Liam Condon says of Cosslett: "He brings a wealth of experience and strategic perspectives with a clear focus on high performance, and I am confident he will provide strong leadership to the board and valuable support to the executive team as we deliver the next phase of our strategy."

Current stock price: 1,864.00 pence, up 0.9% in London early Thursday

12-month change: up 10%
