IN BRIEF: Invinity Energy Systems raises GBP25 million with UK support

22nd Oct 2026 13:42

Invinity Energy Systems PLC - London-based developer of vanadium flow battery technology - Raises GBP25 million in total from its equity raise, issuing 250.0 million new shares at 10 pence each. The raise comprises a GBP12.2 million direct subscription by the UK government's National Wealth Fund Ltd, a GBP10 million placing with institutional investors, and GBP2.8 million in shares taken up by retail investors. Invinity had sought to raise up to GBP5.0 million from retail investors, with NWF promising to match this pound-for-pound up to a GBP25 million total raise, in addition to a cornerstone investment of GBP10 million.

"As it scales, Invinity's vanadium flow technology will play an ever more important role in strengthening the UK's energy security and unlocking more home-grown clean power – that's why we are pleased to deepen our support for the company," says NWF Chief Executive Officer Oliver Holbourn. "Our cornerstone investment has mobilised the funding Invinity needs to back British manufacturing in Scotland, commercialise its technology and transform itself into a global exporter of UK tech."
