EARNINGS: Valereum swings to loss; Lansdowne loss narrows

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of earnings for London-listed companies, issued on Thursday and Wednesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

Valereum PLC- Manchester, England-based digital asset infrastructure firm - Swings to a pretax loss of GBP4.4 million in the six months to June 30 from a GBP277,556 profit a year earlier, including a GBP3.2 million loss on revaluation of investments compared with a GBP2.0 million gain. The company generates revenue of GBP165,955, compared with none a year earlier, while net cash rises to GBP360,000 from GBP10,000. Valereum says VLRM Markets is generating revenue and its partner network is expanding the range of assets and clients it can serve. It says its second-half priority is execution and growth, including bringing new issuers and institutional clients onto its platform. CEO Gary Cottle says: "The first half of 2026 has been about turning Valereum's regulatory and technology groundwork into commercial outcomes, and the results of that work are becoming visible...Our priority for the second half of the year is execution and growth: bringing new issuers and institutional clients onto the platform and continuing to build the distribution capabilities that our partnerships give us access to."

FW Thorpe PLC - Redditch-based lighting systems maker - Pretax profit rises 2.5% to GBP32.4 million in the financial year to June 30 from GBP31.6 million the year before, despite revenue falling 1.3% to GBP172.9 million from GBP175.2 million. The company raises its total dividend by 3.1% to 7.34p per share from 7.12p, while basic earnings per share increase 9.4% to 23.72p. FW Thorpe says the new financial year makes a steady start, with orders ahead but overall performance marginally lower.

Lansdowne Resources PLC - resource exploration company focused on Macaubas graphite project in Brazil - Pretax loss narrows to GBP327,000 in the six months to June 30 from GBP340,000 a year earlier. Cash rises to GBP770,000 from GBP6,000 at the end of 2025. The company completes its reverse takeover of Sao Gabriel Mineracao Ltd and raises around GBP2.0 million, while its shares resume trading on AIM in May. Lansdowne says it is progressing exploration and appraisal work at the Macaubas graphite project in Brazil alongside its Energy Charter Treaty claim relating to the Barryroe oil and gas field in Ireland.

Dunedin Income Growth Investment Trust PLC - investment trust company - Net asset value total return is 6.3% in the six months to July 31, while its share price total return is 5.9%. Revenue return per share falls to 6.2p from 7.8p a year earlier. The trust reports a dividend yield of 6.1% at July 31, compared with 6.2% at the end of January, while its discount to net asset value widens to 8.0% from 7.5%.

Eight Capital Partners PLC - emergent merchant banking and investment group - Pretax profit is broadly flat at GBP904,000 in the six months to June 30 from GBP903,000 a year earlier. Revenue falls 47% to GBP37,000 from GBP70,000, while the financial services company records GBP1.3 million in investment revenue from bond interest. Net assets rise 11% to GBP36.7 million from GBP33.1 million. Eight Capital says its Eight Capital Advisors LLP subsidiary receives regulatory authorisation as an appointed representative in June and is expected to be the group's principal revenue-generating business going forward.

Litigation Capital Management Ltd - Sydney-based asset manager and provider of dispute financing - Pretax loss widens 71% to AUD173.6 million, around USD120.4 million, in the financial year to June 30 from AUD101.7 million the year before, as it records a net realised investment loss of AUD63.9 million compared with a AUD22.2 million gain. Net loss widens to AUD165.7 million from AUD72.9 million, while the litigation financing firm swings to net liabilities of AUD53.6 million from net assets of AUD114.4 million. Litigation Capital says its strategic review concludes without a transaction and it moves into an "orderly run-off", making no new investments and using cash realised from its existing portfolio to repay debt. It agrees to increase its Northleaf debt facility to USD125 million from USD100 million and extend its maturity to December 2030.

R8 Capital Investments PLC - London-based fintech with a bitcoin banking app - Pretax profit falls 47% to GBP1.0 million in the six months to June 30 from GBP2.0 million a year earlier, as finance income declines to GBP935,000 from GBP1.9 million. The company reports no revenue, compared with GBP133,000 a year earlier, while cash falls to GBP13,000 from GBP132,000. R8 says it completes the wind-down of its legacy operations and, following a September recapitalisation, now operates as a cash shell focused on identifying and completing a reverse takeover.

Predator Oil & Gas Holdings PLC - Morocco and Trinidad-focused oil and gas company - Pretax loss narrows to GBP962,249 in the six months to June 30 from GBP1.9 million a year earlier, as sales income jumps to GBP1.5 million from GBP66,815. Gross profit rises to GBP283,041 from GBP66,815. The firm says cash reserves rise to GBP6.6 million at June 30 from GBP1.5 million at the end of 2025. It raises GBP7.5 million through share placings during the period and says its immediate outlook for the rest of 2026 is positive, with drilling underway at the MOU-6 well in Morocco and Snowcap-3 drilling in Trinidad planned to follow.

Wishbone Gold PLC - miner with projects in Western Australia - Pretax loss widens to GBP889,840 in the six months to June 30 from GBP259,927 a year earlier. The company says cash stands at GBP3.1 million at the period end, down from GBP3.4 million at the end of 2025. Wishbone raises GBP1.1 million in an April placing and continues exploration at its Red Setter gold-copper project, where its 2026 drilling programme comprises up to 25 holes for around 9,000 metres. It also acquires the Silver Lake silver project during the period.

Roebuck Food Group PLC - Dublin-based investor in food and agribusiness sectors - Pretax loss widens to GBP1.4 million in the six months to June 30 from GBP952,000 a year earlier, as revenue rises 7.1% to GBP5.5 million from GBP5.1 million. The group says its 37%-owned GlasPort Bio generates GBP264,000 in revenue, compared with none a year earlier, following installations of its GasAbate system. GlasPort expects to add 40 to 45 installations across Ireland and Europe in the second half of 2026 as it builds its recurring revenue base.
