Vast Resources PLC - mining and resource development company with interests in Romania, Tajikistan and Zimbabwe - Raises GBP1.8 million via placing of 933.0 million new shares at 0.195 pence per share. Says the placing will be used for working capital and to support its Baita Plai mine in Romania. Says the funds will cover any unforeseen operational costs due to recent protest action and fund future expansion capital costs, drilling and mine development costs. Notes that it has begun commercial lead and zinc production at Baita Plai, while drilling continues and it plans to extend its licence in 2024. Read More

Vast Resources PLC - London-based mining company with projects in Romania and Zimbabwe - Says that a protest at its Baita Plai polymetallic mine in Romania has come to an end, and operations are now continuing as normal at the site. Follows an announcement on September 22 that some Romanian press outlets had reported strike action by mine workers at Baita Plai. At the time, Vast Resources said: "The strike action, which was undertaken illegally, was reported from the mine and coordinated by a small number of individuals...The majority of the workforce remain supportive of the company and continue to perform their duties on site without impediment; as such the impact on operations at Baita Plai is expected to be minimal." Adds that it remains confident of finalising the process. Mine is located in the Apuseni Mountains in the Transylvania region, Romania. Vast says it is investigating the circumstances independently and jointly with police and other "relevant authorities" and is "providing all necessary assistance for the enquiries into this tragic accident"; will announce further details once enquiries have concluded. Last year, Vast Resources undertook a debt reduction of USD1.0 million to Mercuria, and secured a USD4.0 million asset backed debt facility from A&T Investments Sarl, arranged by Swiss investment banking boutique Alpha Credit SA. Vast Resources PLC - London-based mining company with projects in Romania and Zimbabwe - Raises GBP978,967 through a placing of 212.8 million shares at a price of 0.46 pence per share. Says it will use the cash for an immediate upgrade to underground equipment to maintain the underground production ramp up and the continuation of the ongoing drilling programme at the company’s Baita Plai Polymetallic mine in Romania. The company notes that Baita Plai is moving towards its name plate capacity of 14,000 tonnes per month in the first half of 2023, after seeing strong production and sales in the fourth quarter of 2022.
