The company was held in the unquoted portfolio and had a cost basis of around GBP230,000. The sale is at a modest uplift from the August dollar valuation, and the company says there will be a further uplift of around USD1.0 million if the earn out is achieved and escrows are released as expected. Sportech PLC - Edinburgh-based gambling operator in US - Harwood Capital LLP, part of investment management and advisory firm Harwood Capital Management Ltd, raises stake in Sportech to 29.9% as of Thursday last week from 19.2% previously. The stake is almost all held via North Atlantic Smaller Cos Investment Trust PLC. No reason is provided in the stock market announcement on Monday. Declares no final dividend after an interim payout of 22 pence. Notes the fall in NAV reflected weak markets in general and in particular the performance of smaller UK listed businesses which comprise the majority of the company's listed portfolio. Intends to adopt a cautious approach to equities in 2023. Says return before tax in the 12 months to January 31 totalled GBP4.5 million compared to GBP1.4 million a year prior with basic and diluted earnings per share of 32.65 pence compared to 9.94 pence.
