IN BRIEF: Longboat notes start of production at Statfjord Ost field

Longboat Energy PLC - Norway and Malaysia-focused full-cycle exploration and production company - Notes announcement by Equinor Energy AS that production has started at the Statfjord Ost project in the North Sea, six months ahead of schedule. Statjord Ost is operated by Stavanger, Norway-based oil and gas explorer Equinor. Longboat holds a 4.8% interest in the project area. Production is expected to increase by 26 million barrels of oil equivalent. Adds that two new wells have been drilled from subsea templates and three more wells are expected to be drilled. Read More

IN BRIEF: Longboat Energy assigns rig for drilling Lotus well in 2024

Longboat Energy PLC - North Sea-focused exploration and production - A rig has been assigned for the drilling of the Lotus (Kjottkake) exploration well in Norway, in which it has a 30% interest, alongside operator DNO Norge AS with 40% and Aker BP ASA with 30%. The prospect will be drilled using the semi-submersible Deepsea Yantai and is expected to be drilled during the third quarter of 2024. Longboat estimates Lotus contains gross mean prospective resources of 27 million barrels of oil equivalent, with further potential upside estimated at 44 million. Says the chance of success is 56% with the key risk being hydrocarbon retention. Read More
