The stone is the 13th diamond of more than 100 carats found so far at Letseng in 2024. Gem recovered two such diamonds earlier this month and two in August. Gem Diamonds Ltd - 70% owner of Letseng diamond mine in Lesotho, southern Africa - Sells 56,944 carats of diamonds during the first half of 2024, up 9.2% from 52,163 a year before, bringing in USD77.9 million in revenue, up 8.8% from USD71.6 million, despite a slightly lower average price of USD1,366 per carat, versus USD1,373. The highest price received was USD41,007 per carat for a 62.8 carat white diamond. Gem recovers 55,873 carats of diamonds from the Letseng mine during the first half, up 10% from 50,601 in the first half of 2023.
