Capita PLC - London-based outsourcing and professional services company - Announces that the outgoing chief financial officer of Oxford, England-based components company Essentra PLC, Jack Clarke, has joined its board on Wednesday as non-executive director. Clarke will step down as Essentra CFO in March, Capita says. From 2014 until 2021, Clarke served as CFO of Yorkshire, England-based landscaping products maker Marshall's PLC. Read More

IN BRIEF: Capita extends licence to manage UK smart meter roll-out

Capita PLC - London-based outsourcing and professional services company - Extends Data Communications Co licence by two years to manage the delivery of the UK's smart meter secure communications platform. Under the extension with a total contract value of up to GBP135 million, DCC will continue to operate the platform and the UK's smart meter roll-out until September 2027. "We are exceptionally proud of the central role Capita plays in enabling the technological transformation of the UK's energy system. We will continue to leverage deep technical expertise and regulatory knowledge to deliver smooth migration to smart meters, helping UK consumers to become more energy aware as well as helping them manage their costs," says Richard Holroyd, chief executive officer of Capita Public Service. AdvancedAdvT Ltd - London-based owner of software for business solutions, healthcare compliance, and human capital management businesses that were formerly part of Capita PLC - Reports pretax profit from continuing operations of GBP5.2 million in the eight months ended February 29, up from GBP1.4 million in the 12 months ended June 30, 2023. Revenue is GBP21.1 million, compared to none the year before. AdvancedAdvT completed its reverse takeover of the Capita businesses in August of last year, and the recent results cover its period of ownership of those operations. Since the new financial year began on March 1, trading has been in line with board expectations, AdvancedAdvT says, securing "a number of large, long-term contracts across both public sector and private sector customers".
