AstraZeneca PLC - Cambridge, England-based pharmaceutical maker - Reports promising test results for one of its cancer therapies. The Echo phase III trial shows that Calquence, when used in combination with bendamustine and rituximab, demonstrates a clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival in patients with untreated mantle cell lymphoma. Compared to standard-of-care chemoimmunotherapy, the combination with Calquence, whose generic name is acalabrutinib, shows a 27% reduced risk of disease progression or death.
