Porvair PLC27 February 2008 For Immediate Release 27 February 2008 Porvair plc ("Porvair") Participation in EU Greensyngas Project Porvair plc ("Porvair"), the specialist filtration and environmental technologygroup, is pleased to announce its participation in GREENSYNGAS, a €6.7 millionthree year project funded by the European Commission under its 7th FrameworkProgram. The project team comprises several academic, research and commercialorganisations and Porvair's involvement highlights its strong position in theincreasingly busy gasification sector. The project will develop and demonstrate advanced synthesis gas cleaningtechnologies based on both the physical separation and chemical conversion ofproduct gas derived from biomass gasification. The purified 'syngas' cleaned bythese processes will be suitable for a number of downstream applicationsincluding conversion into synthetic biofuels for the transport sector; hydrogen;or electricity generation with carbon capture and sequestration.
