Barclays PLC10 October 2006 10 October 2006 Director/PDMR shareholding: Disclosure Rules 3.1.4R(1)(a) and 3.1.4R(1)(b) The trustee of the Barclays Group Sharepurchase Plan, an HM Revenue and Customsapproved all-employee share plan, informed the Company on 9 October 2006 that ithad on 9 October 2006 purchased, and now held as bare trustee of the BarclaysGroup Sharepurchase Plan, the following ordinary shares in the capital ofBarclays PLC for the following directors/Persons Discharging ManagerialResponsibility (PDMRs) at a price of 706.00p per share: Director/PDMR Number of SharesMr G A Hoffman 18Mr D L Roberts 18Mr J S Varley 18Mr L C Dickinson 14 The Barclays Group Sharepurchase Plan now includes Matching Shares provided bythe Company on a 1:1 basis up to the first £600 per annum invested by theparticipant under the Plan. The number of shares purchased on 9 October 2006 foreach director/PDMR above includes the Matching Shares.
