Rift Oil PLC14 February 2008 For immediate release 14 February 2008 Rift Oil plc Director's Shareholding The Company was informed on 14 February 2008 that Thornaby Limited acquired afurther 1,000,000 shares in the Company at 3.75p per share, in addition to thosepreviously disclosed. Thornaby Limited is a company the entire issued sharecapital of which is owned by the I.R. Gowrie-Smith Family Settlement, thebeneficiaries of which include Ian Gowrie-Smith. Ian Gowrie-Smith is nowinterested in 76,758,681 shares representing 11.01% of the Company's issuedshare capital, all of which are held by Thornaby Limited.
