10th Dec 2019 11:45

(Alliance News) - TV and content creation company Zinc Media Group PLC on Tuesday said it has secured new commissions worth GBP4.3 million across its television production labels.

The new commissions include a new BBC series on the second world war produced by documentary and current affairs producer Brook Lapping and a production with the US-based Smithsonian Channel titled 'The Curious Life and Death of…'.

Programmes which have been re-commissioned include Glasgow-based Tern TV's 'Children's Hospital' and More 4's 'Emergency Helicopter Medics' .

Mark Browning, chief executive officer, commented: "I am pleased to see that new commissions are now anticipated to deliver improved margins which are more in-line with industry norms. Improving gross margins on TV commissions in London and Manchester is the first priority in our transformation plan and early signs show demonstrable progress, which is critical for our longer term profitability."

Shares in the London-based company were up 5.7% at 0.28 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
