(Alliance News) - Zinc Media Group PLC on Wednesday said it has landed its largest ever volume deal, thanks to Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd.
The Edinburgh-based production company's label, Red Sauce, secured a 52-hour deal with the television network, saying that revenue from Red Sauce commissions in the last two weeks totalled GBP4 million.
Shares were up 7.3% at 64.90 pence in London on Wednesday afternoon.
Red Sauce, which produces factual entertainment television, also unveiled a 10-part series commission last week with UKTV Media Ltd owned channel Dave.
The series on Channel 5 will be called 'Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun - Costa Living' and made in Manchester, while the series with Dave is called 'Special Ops: Crime Squad UK' and will be made in London.
Zinc has production and development teams in Manchester and London, which it hopes to scale up through its big ticket deals. It plans to offer over 100 production roles across the company.
The company's most recent contract win was GBP1.9 million of commissions in May, GBP1.4 million of which came from the recommissioning of two returning series and a one-off documentary, and the remainder from Tern TV and the new Zinc Communicate division.
