LONDON (Alliance News) - Xtract Resources PLC on Wednesday said it has increased the milling capacity at the Chepica gold and copper mine in Chile.
Xtract said the milling capacity at the site has been increased to 10,000 tonnes per month from 6,000 tonnes per month following the installation and commissioning of a new ball mill.
In addition, the existing two mills on the site have been upgraded with rubber linings to improve efficiency, it said.
"Production is building steadily at the Chepica mine and with the increased milling capacity the mine is on track to return to profitability in April. Development is progressing well and stoping operations will start by the end of June," said Xtract Chief Executive Jan Nelson.
