LONDON (Alliance News) - Xtract Resources PLC said on Thursday its processing plant at its Chepica gold and copper mine in Chile has been granted permission to restart.
The processing plant was shut down by authorities in late 2015 after two of Xtract's employees died following accidents on Christmas Eve.
The miner said it has been visited by two inspectors earlier this week, the Inspector of Mines and the Inspector of Works, and management was found to have implemented all the required recommendations.
The company had originally been hoping to reopen on January 20, but visits from the inspectors were pushed back due to commitments elsewhere.
Xtract was given permission for the site to reopen on Friday. The company said it expects the plant to be back to full capacity in a few days.
Xtract shares were up 0.6% at 0.201 pence on Thursday morning.
