(Alliance News) - Wizz Air Holdings PLC said it expects revenue and its fleet number to grow in the medium term, as it set out targets at a capital markets day on Thursday.
The Budapest-based budget airline set medium-term targets for financial 2030 including revenue of EUR10.00 billion, an earnings before interest and tax margin of 10%, and ex-fuel cost per available seat kilometre of 3.00 euro cents, as it outlined to analysts and investors a path towards sustained profitability.
For financial 2026, Wizz reported revenue of EUR5.69 billion, an operating margin of 2.5%, and ex-fuel cost per available seat kilometre of 3.02 euro cents.
Wizz Air also upgraded its second-quarter revenue outlook, following what it called a stronger-than-expected summer, now expecting revenue per available seat kilometre to be flat year-on-year, compared with previous guidance for a low-single-digit percentage decline. For financial 2026, Wizz had reported revenue per available seat kilometre of 4.31 euro cents.
The company by financial year 2030 plans to operate an "all-neo" fleet of 335 aircraft and carry 127 million passengers. In financial 2026, it had a period-end fleet size of 262 and carried 69.7 million passengers. 'Neo' refers to variants of the fuel-saving A321neo aircraft made by Airbus SE. Currently, 78% of Wizz's fleet is composed of neo aircraft.
Capacity and first-half ex-fuel unit cost guidance were unchanged, but the airline did not provide guidance for financial 2027.
Wizz Air's financial year ends on March 31.
Wizz Air shares were up 3.0% to 980.0 pence each on Thursday morning in London.
