FTSE 100 & 250 movers in focus:
----------
Hollywood Bowl Group, down 5.2% at 266.75p, 12-month range 227.50p-312.50p. Deutsche Bank cuts its price target for shares of the ten pin bowling operator to 358p from 376p, but keeps its 'buy' rating. Deutsche has a "more cautious view" of Hollywood Bowl's second half, as sunny weather in the UK likely hurt business for indoor entertainment providers. Deutche notes there were only three days with rainfall in July and nine in August, 82% and 42% below the 10-year averages for the months. "In this sense we expect footfall suffered, and we assume indoor entertainment lost out to theme parks," Deutsche said.
----------
Spire Healthcare Group, up 3.1% at 245.25p, 12-month range 140.80p-256.50p. Agrees to a more than GBP1 billion private equity takeover offer, which already has been accepted by a majority of shareholders. Spire's chair and chief executive both step down immediately as the private healthcare provider says it is preparing for the transition to new ownership. Tulip UK Bidco Ltd, a newly formed company owned by funds managed or advised by Toscafund Asset Management LLP, THCP Advisory Ltd and Ares Management Ltd, will pay 250 pence in cash for each Spire share. This is a 66% premium to Spire's undisturbed share price of 150.4p on May 13, the day before Toscafund made a non-binding proposal at the same 250p price. The offer values Spire's equity at GBP1.03 billion. It gives the London-based company an enterprise value, including debt, of GBP2.31 billion.
----------
Harbour Energy, up 2.3% at 264.8p, 12-month range 182.00p-321.00p. Brent oil moves above USD96 a barrel from around USD95 late Friday. Iran's top negotiator on Sunday threatens a more forceful response to any further US attacks after Tehran targeted American warships in their latest round of clashes. Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who has acted as chief negotiator in talks to end the war, on Sunday says "the era of proportionate responses has come to an end".
----------
Standard Life, up 1.9% at 950.00p, 12-month range 633.50p-951.00p. Reports a stronger-than-expected half-year profit and says it is on track to deliver on guidance. The London-based retirement savings provider says its attributable pretax loss in the first half of 2026 widens to GBP272 million from GBP209 million a year prior, though total income surges to GBP21.73 billion from GBP8.60 billion. Adjusted operating profit shoots up 25% on-year to GBP563 million from GBP451 million, Standard Life says, topping the company-compiled consensus of GBP541 million.
