----------

Shell PLC, up 3.6% at 4,098.75 pence, 12-month range 2,553.77p-4,104.50p. The London-based oil major increases its quarterly share buyback programme to USD5 billion from its recent USD3 billion run-rate, after reporting better-than-expected third-quarter earnings supported by higher oil prices and stronger refining margins. Pretax income more than doubles to USD17.99 billion from USD7.92 billion a year earlier, while revenue rises 36% to USD92.85 billion from USD68.15 billion. Adjusted earnings increase to USD10.81 billion from USD5.43 billion, beating company-compiled consensus of USD10.33 billion, while adjusted Ebitda climbs to USD22.74 billion from USD14.77 billion, ahead of expectations of USD21.74 billion. Operating cash flow jumps to USD21.04 billion from USD12.21 billion, comfortably exceeding consensus of USD16.55 billion. Shell declares a quarterly dividend of USD0.3906 per share, up from USD0.358 a year earlier,. Chief Executive Wael Sawan says Shell's focus on operational performance has delivered strong results despite severe disruption to the global energy system. Looking ahead, Shell expects full-year capital expenditure of USD23 billion to USD25 billion, up from USD21 billion in 2025, including its acquisition of ARC Resources.

----------

WPP Group PLC, up 1.8% at 391.15 pence, 12-month range 218.50p-420.00p. The London-based advertising firm maintains its annual guidance after reporting third-quarter trading in line with expectations, as it continues implementing its 'elevate28' turnaround plan. Revenue for the three months to September 30 edges up 0.5% to GBP3.27 billion from GBP3.26 billion a year earlier, while revenue less pass-through costs falls 2.0% to GBP2.41 billion from GBP2.46 billion. On a like-for-like basis, third-quarter revenue less pass-through costs falls across all regions, including declines of 1.8% in North America, 1.7% in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and 4.3% in Asia Pacific. WPP's top 25 clients record a 2.7% decline, improving from a 3.2% fall in the previous quarter. Looking ahead, WPP continues to expect like-for-like revenue less pass-through costs to decline by a low to mid-single-digit percentage in the second half of 2026, with fourth-quarter performance towards the better end of that range.

----------

Haleon PLC, down 16% at 312.45 pence, 12-month range 310.50p-433.60p. The London-based consumer healthcare company cuts its full-year organic revenue growth outlook and accelerates changes to its Brazilian operations, sending its shares sharply lower. The maker of Sensodyne toothpaste and Panadol painkillers now expects organic revenue growth of around 2.5% in 2026, down from its previous guidance of between 3.0% and 5.0%. However, Haleon continues to expect high-single-digit percentage growth in adjusted operating profit at constant currency for the full year. The company also brings forward changes to its strategy in Brazil, originally planned for implementation throughout 2027, into the fourth quarter of 2026. These measures are expected to reduce fourth-quarter net revenue by between GBP15 million and GBP20 million.

----------

St James's Place PLC, down 6.5% at 1,041.50 pence, 12-month range 1,011.50p-1,575.50p. The wealth management company reports a sharp decline in third-quarter net inflows, though funds under management still reach a record high. Net inflows fall to GBP570 million in the three months to September 30 from GBP1.76 billion a year earlier, while gross inflows decline to GBP5.15 billion from GBP5.70 billion. However, closing funds under management rise 14% to a record GBP242.44 billion from GBP212.36 billion, supported by positive investment returns and continued net inflows. The annualised year-to-date client retention rate remains broadly stable at 95.1%, compared with 95.2% a year earlier, while annualised net inflows as a proportion of opening funds under management decline to 2.0% from 3.9%. Chief Executive Mark FitzPatrick attributes the weaker inflows to a demanding comparative period in 2025, when activity was boosted by the introduction of the company's new charging structure, alongside market volatility and uncertainty ahead of the UK autumn budget. He says St James's Place continues to invest in technology and artificial intelligence to improve productivity and will provide further details of its next strategic phase, 'amplify', alongside full-year results in February.

----------

Lloyds Banking Group PLC, down 4.8% at 98.88 pence, 12-month range 84.64p-123.10p. The UK lender reports a near doubling of third-quarter pretax profit but leaves its annual guidance unchanged, with Shore Capital describing the results as a "low quality beat". Pretax profit rises to GBP2.33 billion in the three months to September 30 from GBP1.17 billion a year earlier, supported by higher income and a sharp reduction in remediation charges to GBP22 million from GBP875 million. Underlying net interest income increases 10% to GBP3.81 billion from GBP3.45 billion, while the banking net interest margin improves to 3.25% from 3.06%. Underlying pretax profit climbs to GBP2.37 billion from GBP1.29 billion, while earnings per share rise to 2.8p from 1.0p. Shore Capital notes that pretax profit beats consensus by 2%, while underlying pretax profit is 1% ahead, with the 8% earnings per share beat driven by a lower-than-expected tax charge. For the first nine months, pretax profit rises 42% to GBP6.63 billion from GBP4.68 billion. Underlying net interest income increases 10% to GBP11.08 billion in the nine months from GBP10.11 billion a year before. Lloyds reiterates its full-year guidance for underlying net interest income above GBP14.9 billion.
