FTSE 100 & 250 movers in focus:

----------

Kainos Group Ltd, up 20% at 1,162.5p, 12-month range 680.50p-1,190.00p. It raises its revenue and earnings guidance, as sales momentum from financial 2026 has continued into the new financial year.

London-based Kainos provides IT support to customers across three divisions: Digital Services, Workday Services, and Workday Products. It says the double-digit percentage revenue growth and record order backlog that it achieved in the financial year that ended March 31 has continued into financial 2027. As a result, it said its annual results will be "comfortably ahead" of current market expectations. Kainos cites these as adjusted pretax profit of GBP75.0 million to GBP84.0 million on revenue of GBP498.0 million to GBP514.0 million. This would be up from GBP67.1 million and GBP431.1 million in financial 2026.

----------

JPMorgan Japanese Investment Trust, down 3.1% at 834.5p, 12-month range 661.00p-867.00p. The stock eases as shares in some of its investees are hit by risk-off trade on Tuesday. Semiconductor production equipment maker Tokyo Electron Ltd, which accounted for 4.8% of the firm's portfolio at the end of June, suffered a 6.2% slump on Tuesday. The wider Nikkei 225 fell 2.5% in Tokyo.

----------

BP, up 1.9% at 529.2p, 12-month range 399.35p-609.40p. Brent spikes as high as around USD91.85 a barrel on Tuesday, its highest level so far in August. The chances of a peace agreement between Washington and Tehran remain thin after Donald Trump said he would not extend a 60-day truce, AFP reports.

----------

Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings PLC, down 1.8% at 33.79p, 12-month range 33.74p-86.80p. Shares in the luxury carmaker trade around a record low, typifying a tough run on the stock market so far. Last month, the Gaydon, Warwickshire-based firm reported a wider pretax loss of GBP154.2 million for the first half of the year, from GBP140.8 million 12 months earlier. In the second quarter alone, it stretched to GBP88.7 million from GBP61.2 million. But revenue rose 38% to GBP626.6 million in the half-year, from GBP454.4 million, with a 62% rise to GBP358.2 million from GBP220.5 million in the second quarter. It also announced a GBP550 million financing package last month. Aston Martin floated at 1,900p per share back in October 2018. Shares have plunged 98% since.
