FTSE 100 & 250 movers in focus:
----------
HSBC Holdings PLC, down 7.2% at 1,267.60 pence, 12-month range 979.80p-1,610.00p. The Asia-focused lender falls despite reporting a 32% increase in third-quarter pretax profit to USD9.63 billion from USD7.30 billion a year earlier, maintaining its dividend and announcing a new USD1 billion share buyback programme. Basic and diluted earnings per share rise 46% to USD0.41 from USD0.28, while the quarterly dividend is held at USD0.10 per share. Analysts at Shore Capital describe the results as mixed, noting that weaker-than-expected income was largely offset by lower-than-anticipated impairments. Adjusted pretax profit of USD10.02 billion is broadly in line with market consensus of USD10.07 billion, despite income falling 2% short of expectations. Shore Capital also notes that HSBC has left its guidance unchanged and places the shares under review, having previously held a 'sell' rating, with a price target of 1,335p.
----------
Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC, down 4.6% at 5,231.00 pence, 12-month range 3,664.00p-6,514.00p. The consumer goods company cuts its full-year like-for-like revenue growth forecast for its core business to between 3.5% and 4.5% from 4.0% to 5.0%, following weaker-than-expected third-quarter sales amid an unexpected slowdown in North America. Revenue falls 6.9% to GBP3.36 billion from GBP3.61 billion a year earlier, while like-for-like sales growth slows to 3.2% from 4.7% in the second quarter, missing market expectations of 3.7%. North American like-for-like revenue declines 1.3%, against expectations of 1.2% growth, as manufacturing constraints affect its Lysol cleaning products. Emerging markets deliver 8.0% growth, while Europe returns to growth at 0.8%. Reckitt maintains its full-year adjusted operating profit margin guidance of 24.9% to 25.6% and expects North American sales to recover in the fourth quarter as manufacturing constraints ease.
----------
Vistry Group PLC, up 3.8% at 265.00 pence, 12-month range 216.00p-746.40p. The housebuilder appoints Severn Trent Chief Financial Officer Helen Miles as its new CFO, with her arrival expected during 2027. Miles has spent 12 years at the water utility and has served as CFO since July 2023. She will remain at Severn Trent throughout her 12-month notice period to ensure an orderly transition, while the utility has begun a formal search for her successor. In the meantime, Vistry appoints Robert Allen as interim CFO and board director with immediate effect, pending Miles's arrival.
----------
NCC Group PLC, down 2.0% at 171.00 pence, 12-month range 113.50p-217.25p. The cybersecurity company expects full-year 2026 revenue to meet market expectations and adjusted Ebitda to exceed forecasts, as it appoints Chief Financial Officer Guy Ellis as chief executive officer with immediate effect, succeeding Mike Maddison. Revenue from its core Cyber business is expected to rise 3.7% at constant currency to around GBP235 million from GBP227.4 million a year earlier, excluding non-core disposals. Adjusted Ebitda is forecast at GBP16.3 million, with a margin of 6.9%, while gross margin improves to a record 38.4%. Including the disposed Escode business, group revenue is expected to reach GBP280 million and adjusted Ebitda GBP36.0 million. Net cash is forecast at approximately GBP53 million as at September 30. NCC maintains its financial expectations for the year ending September 2027. Group Financial Director Andy Beaver becomes interim CFO, while Chair Chris Stone says Ellis is the right person to lead the company following its transformation into a focused cybersecurity business.
----------
Informa PLC, up 0.3% at 836.40 pence, 12-month range 719.00p-1,000.00p. Informa reports underlying revenue growth of 6.5% in the nine months to September 30, excluding non-recurring data contracts, driven by an 8.0% increase in its business-to-business live events division. Academic Markets revenue rises 4.0%, while Informa TechTarget revenue falls 1.6%. The events organiser maintains its guidance for double-digit underlying earnings growth in 2026 despite disruption in the Middle East, but says full-year underlying revenue growth is now tracking towards around 3.0%, down from its previous expectation of around 6.0%, assuming no further contribution from Saudi Arabia this year. The revised outlook follows further event rescheduling in the country, including Cityscape Global and the Global Health Exhibition. Informa also expects to complete its acquisition of Clarion Events in the first two weeks of December, adding more than 100 business-to-business event brands to its portfolio. Chief Executive Stephen Carter says: "Strong underlying demand for B2B Live Events, combined with the strength of our Brands and operating flexibility, is enabling us to deliver consistent growth and performance, and our international breadth is limiting the impact of specific in-market disruptions."
