FTSE 100 & 250 movers in focus:

----------

3i Group, down 3.6% at 2,380.00p, 12-month range 1,825.00p-4,497.00p. France is the largest individual market of discount retailer Action, a key holding of 3i. French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed the public's "anger" and "shame" over nationwide protests against rising living costs and poor conditions in schools that have resulted in at least 2,400 arrests. Other stocks with French exposure struggled, including Kingfisher PLC, down 2.0%. Kingfisher owns Castorama and Brico Depot.

----------

Volex, down 3.4% at 615.50p, 12-month range 353.00p-710.00p. Volex has forecast first-half revenue growth of around 22%, although it cautioned that headline year-on-year growth rates have started to "normalise". Revenue for the first half is expected to be at least USD710 million, including a contribution of around USD11 million from Kepler SignalTek, the acquisition of which was completed in July. This would be up from 22% of USD583.9 million the year prior. As the group's annual general meeting statement in August indicated, Volex says headline year-on-year revenue growth rates have started to normalise from the 28% reported for the first four months of the year, as the data centre programmes that ramped up in the prior year annualise.

----------

Barclays, down 2.5% at 421.83p, 12-month range 353.55p-554.10p. The Bank of England is examining whether Barclays traders misrepresented illiquid private credit loans to understate their risk after an insider raised concerns, the Financial Times reports on Monday.

----------

Imperial Brands PLC, down 2.0% at 2,823.00p, 12-month range 2,408.00p-3,632.04p. The threat of excise tax hikes in Germany "may materially slow growth down" at the tobacco firm, Jefferies believes. It cuts the company's rating to 'hold' from 'buy'.
