Small-cap and AIM movers in focus:

----------

Aptitude Software Group PLC, up 9.8% at 235.00 pence, 12-month range 195.00p-307.00p. The subscription management and finance digitalisation software provider reports higher adjusted operating profit and "strong" annual recurring revenue growth in the first half, despite lower overall revenue. Adjusted operating profit rises to GBP5.1 million from GBP4.9 million, while total revenue falls to GBP28.8 million from GBP32.8 million. Pretax profit declines to GBP840,000 from GBP1.8 million and statutory operating profit falls to GBP1.2 million from GBP2.0 million, although operating costs decrease to GBP27.6 million from GBP30.8 million. Aptitude leaves its interim dividend unchanged at 1.8p per share. The company says geopolitical uncertainty has extended sales cycles but remains encouraged by annual recurring revenue growth and focused on capturing the "significant market opportunity" ahead.

----------

Filtronic PLC, up 9.3% at 235.00 pence, 12-month range 7.52p-25.80p. The radio frequency technology specialist secures a USD8.0 million, or GBP5.9 million, follow-on contract with a US customer to design, develop and build prototype units for deployment on satellites. The award follows an initial USD500,000 development contract announced in June and an USD8.0 million order from the same customer in March for amplifier technology. Filtronic says the latest deal strengthens its position in millimetre-wave satellite payload technology and expands its relationship with the customer. The contract is expected to be completed in the first half of financial 2028, with revenue recognised across financial 2027 and 2028, providing further visibility over future revenue.

----------

Cirata PLC, down 33% at 7.85 pence, 12-month range 7.52p-25.80p. The data software provider reports a sharp fall in first-half revenue, despite substantially narrowing its loss. Revenue drops 70% to USD957,000 from USD3.2 million a year earlier, while pretax loss narrows to USD3.5 million from USD13.4 million. Operating expenses decline to USD6.6 million from USD7.8 million, while cost of sales falls to just USD3,000 from USD295,000. Cirata continues to expect an annual cost base of between USD12 million and USD13 million and says it is making continued progress with its expanded original equipment manufacturer partnership with IBM.

----------

CT Automotive Group PLC, down 26% at 24.50 pence, 12-month range 19.00p-55.00p. The automotive interior components supplier reports a sharp drop in first-half profit and guides for financial 2026 adjusted pretax profit of between USD4.9 million and USD9.4 million. Pretax profit falls 55% to USD1.6 million from USD3.4 million a year earlier, despite revenue rising 14% to USD61.7 million from USD54.1 million. Earnings per share decline to 2.1 US cents from 4.6 cents, while net debt edges up to USD12.2 million from USD12.1 million. CT Automotive also says a key customer has contested standard contractual cost-increase mechanisms, reducing previously announced first-half revenue by USD400,000.

----------

Empyrean Energy PLC, down 24% at 0.06 pence, 12-month range 0.02p-0.16p. The oil and gas explorer raises GBP1.0 million through a placing of 2.00 billion new shares at 0.05p each, a discount to its current market price. Empyrean acknowledges the fundraising is dilutive, with the new shares expected to be admitted to AIM on September 22. Proceeds will primarily fund its share of the costs of drilling the GOLD-1 exploration well in Austria, scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter, as well as general working capital. Empyrean will commit around EUR555,400 in a success case, representing 20% of the well's EUR2.78 million cost cap, and will earn a 10% economic interest in the GOLD Cluster.
