Saga, up 8.7% at 632.5p, 12-month range 129.79p-652.92p. It reports a swing to an annual profit, "underpinned by the performance of the Travel and Insurance businesses". The provider of products and services for people over 50 says pretax profit in the year to January 31 amounted to GBP2.1 million, swinging from a loss of GBP160.2 million a year prior. Revenue was 12% higher at GBP660.0 million from GBP588.3 million.

----------

Burberry Group, down 2.3% at 1,142.4p, 12-month range 641.00p-1,376.50p. The reporting season for European luxury goods makers gets off to a nervy start, hitting Burberry. Hermes International SCA slumps 10% in Paris, where Kering SA loses 9.9%.

----------

Barratt Redrow PLC, up 2.1% at 263.7p, 12-month range 249.30p-486.50p. It is being "more selective" on land purchases given the Middle East crisis and the likely impact on mortgage rates and build cost inflation. The Leicestershire, England-based housebuilder says it is on track for total home completions of between 17,200 and 17,800 for the financial year to June, in line with consensus of 17,416, and higher than 16,565 completions in the 52 weeks to June 29, 2025. The FTSE 100 listing says it is also on course to deliver full-year adjusted pretax profit in line with current market consensus of GBP568 million, which would be up 16% from GBP488.3 million the year prior.

----------

Wizz Air, down 1.3% at 1,004.5p, 12-month range 832.00p-1,778.00p. Shares perked up 8.5% on Tuesday amid Middle East peace hope. The carrier is up around 18% so far in April.

----------

Standard Life PLC, up 1.0% at 721.20, 12-month range 633.50p-778.40p. It has struck a GBP2.0 billion agreement to acquire Aegon's UK insurance and pensions operations, in a cash and shares deal. Aegon will become a "new strategic shareholder and asset management partner", Standard Life says, with just over a 15% stake. The insurance, savings and retirement products firm, formerly called Phoenix Group Holdings, will pay GBP750 million in cash. That portion will be funded by a GBP650 million debt issuance and existing cash resources. It will issue 181.1 million shares to Aegon. "The relationship agreement with Aegon entitles Aegon to appoint a non-executive director to the board and underpins the strategic asset management partnership between Aegon and Standard Life," Standard Life says. "Standard Life's existing strategic shareholders, MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, Inc and Aberdeen Group PLC are supportive of the strategy and remain committed to their shareholdings. The potential for significant value creation of the enlarged group is attractive for them, and we look forward to continuing the development of our already close association with both."
