Small-cap and AIM movers in focus:

----------

Solvonis Therapeutics PLC, up 14% at 0.11 pence, 12-month range 0.09p-0.32p. The clinical-stage biotechnology company says the US Patent & Trademark Office has allowed its method-of-use patent application covering the treatment of all behavioural addictions with ketamine at dissociative doses of at least 50 milligrams. The claims cover conditions including binge eating, gambling, gaming and compulsive sexual behaviour disorders, with or without psychotherapy. Solvonis expects the patent to be granted in the first quarter of 2027, subject to final formalities, with protection expected to run until May 2042. The company identifies binge eating and gambling disorders as its initial commercial priorities, noting that behavioural addictions are estimated to affect more than 48 million Americans. Chief Executive Anthony Tennyson says the patent allowance creates opportunities for partnerships and licensing agreements, complementing the company's phase 3 alcohol addiction programme and US government-funded research into cocaine and methamphetamine addiction. Solvonis plans to pursue non-dilutive funding and commercial partners to support further clinical development.

----------

Atlas Metals Group PLC, down 45% at 2.75 pence, 12-month range 2.75p-35.00p. Terminates its proposed acquisition of Universal Pozzolanic Silica Alumina, citing difficulties encountered during due diligence and actions taken by UPSA representatives. Atlas Metals says it is now in advanced discussions over two other potential acquisitions involving lithium and graphite assets in Africa and South America.

----------

Mkango Magnetic Materials Ltd, up 14% at 37.75 pence, 12-month range 25.80p-62.00p. The rare earth magnet recycling company recently agreed to acquire the remaining 10% interest in HyProMag Germany from Carlo Burkhardt for GBP1.1 million, taking its subsidiary HyProMag UK's ownership to 100%. The consideration comprises GBP757,900 in new Mkango shares, issued at 29.5p each, and GBP302,100 in cash, payable upon commissioning of HyProMag Germany's rare earth magnet recycling and manufacturing plant in Pforzheim, or by December 31. The transaction will increase Mkango's effective interest in HyProMag Germany to 79.4% from 71.5%, through its 79.4%-owned subsidiary Maginito. The Pforzheim facility is currently undergoing commissioning and has been designated a Strategic Project under the European Union Critical Raw Materials Act. Chief Executive Will Dawes says the acquisition will simplify the group's structure as it expands rare earth magnet recycling and manufacturing operations in Germany. Completion remains subject to regulatory approval and execution of a notarised share transfer agreement.

----------

Atome PLC, down 26% at 11.00 pence, 12-month range 11.00p-91.50p. The low-carbon fertiliser developer says it remains in discussions with Paraguayan stakeholders to resolve an investment dispute concerning its flagship Villeta project, but warns that its financing and commercial agreements could be terminated if the dispute remains unresolved and the project fails. Atome says the three-month waiting period under the UK-Paraguay bilateral investment treaty expires on December 17, after which it can submit arbitration claims if satisfactory progress has not been made. Based on legal advice and an independent assessment, the company says its potential claim for gross damages could extend well into nine figures in US dollars, although it cautions there is no certainty over any eventual award. Atome adds that its debt and equity providers remain supportive, with some offering potential additional financial assistance. The company continues to seek an amicable resolution while working with engineering contractor Casale on a potential way forward for the project.
