FTSE 100 & 250 movers in focus:
----------
BP PLC, down 1.4% at 618.45 pence, 12-month range 415.65p-638.5p. Brent crude falls to USD108.43 a barrel on Monday from USD117.61 late on Friday. Also, BP completes the USD6 billion sale of a 65% stake in its lubricants brand Castrol to private equity firm Stonepeak Partners LP. Says proceeds will further reduce financial obligations, in line with its first priority of strengthening the balance sheet. Castrol will now operate as a standalone company, and BP will retain a 35% stake. BP is subject to a two-year lock-up period on completion but then has the option to sell the remaining stake.
----------
Endeavour Mining PLC, down 1.4% at 3,685.00 pence, 12-month range GBP29.74-GBP52.90. Last Wednesday, the access ramp leading to the depleted Wona open pit partially subsided. This restricted access to the Dangouna and Aviera underground portals at the Mana mine in Burkina Faso. "Underground mining activities at all three active underground portals at Mana have been suspended to allow for detailed geotechnical analysis and ramp remediation work to be assessed," Endeavour says. It noted that nobody was hurt during the incident. Endeavour says it remains on track to achieve its full-year production and AISC guidance. "Furthermore, the company is actively evaluating options to mitigate the impact of the incident on Mana's production, including the restart and acceleration of mining activities in the Wona portal, which remains accessible, and other near-mine open pits," it adds. Also, gold is quoted lower at USD3,894.26 an ounce against USD3,897.92 at the Friday close.
----------
Dr Martens PLC, down 2.7% at 63.80 pence, 12-month range 60.7p-89p. Barclays cuts Dr Martens to 'underweight', lowering the price target to 60p from 75p.
----------
FirstGroup PLC, up 3.9% at 225.20 pence, 12-month range 158p-226.4p. Agrees to sell assets to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. Deal is valued at GBP109 million. It includes five freehold depots and fixed assets within the depots, as well as a bus fleet, including 251 diesel vehicles and 79 electric vehicles. FirstGroup expects a post-tax disposal gain of around GBP30 million in relation to the completed depot sales.
----------
International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, up 3.2% at 415.35 pence, 12-month range 342.3p-488p. Fellow airline Ryanair reports results for its first half ended September 30. Passengers increase 6% to 125.8 million from 119.0 million, while revenue increases 2.6% to EUR10.08 billion from EUR9.82 billion. Pretax profit falls 16% to EUR2.43 billion from EUR2.89 billion. Its load factor is 95%, unchanged from a year earlier. Revenue per passenger falls 3.0%, as the average fare declines 4.0% due to "consumer hesitancy and later bookings" resulting from the conflict in the Middle East. For the full year, Ryanair expects traffic to grow 3% to 214 million, noting that "this year's earnings are well insulated from current oil price volatility."
----------
Shell PLC, down 0.8% at 4,004 pence, 12-month range GBP25.62-GBP40.38. Signs binding long-term liquefied natural gas supply agreement with Metlen Energy & Metals PLC. Shell Global LNG will supply Metlen with six LNG cargoes per year starting in 2027, amounting to around 600 million cubic meters per year over five years. Neither party discloses the financial terms of the agreement. The cargoes will be delivered to Metlen, primarily sourced from Shell's US LNG portfolio, for supply to Greece or other European gas markets.
