(Alliance News) - Vault Ventures PLC on Monday announced a change of name and leadership as it moves towards bringing its first product to the market.
The London-based technology development firm said it would change its name to Sentry 7 PLC on the Aquis Stock Exchange Growth Market and in daily operations.
The name reflected the company's new focus on developing a technology that can prove the authenticity and integrity of digital records.
The new technology will act "as a digital sentry for regulated financial institutions, enabling them to prove, years later, what was communicated and that it has not been altered," the company said.
Sentry 7 also announced the appointment of Mark Evans-Smith as its first chief executive officer, subject to the completion of standard due diligence checks.
Evans-Smith previously worked at Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC's R2 data labs, GSK PLC's consumer healthcare and BP PLC.
Non-executive Director Jeremy Woodgate will be stepping down from the board immediately, Sentry 7 said. The company thanked Woodgate for his commitment.
Sentry 7 said the changes marked its move from development to commercialisation of its first product on the market.
Sentry 7 said: "The next phase requires the commercial experience and leadership needed to build on this progress, further develop the core technology and move the business towards commercialisation. Mark has spent his career doing exactly that inside some of the world’s largest organisations, and the board is delighted to welcome him."
Shares in the company were 0.38 pence each on the Aquis Stock Exchange on Monday, up 44% from 0.26 pence on Friday.
