UPDATE: JQW Says Operations To Be Suspended For Further Fortnight

19th Oct 2015 13:18

LONDON (Alliance News) - Chinese e-commerce company JQW PLC said that its operations remain suspended, as whilst it has made progress towards having its supension lifted, it will need to undertake further training for new staff it has recruited to strengthen its website monitoring activities.

In September, the company said it had been fined CNY18,000 and handed penalty of a one-month suspension after it was found to have violated Chinese advertisement law, advertisement management regulations, and laws prohibiting of pyramid selling.

JQW said it has been working with the Administration of Industry and Commerce in China to ensure its websites are fully-compliant with local law to allow the suspension to be lifted. A team from the AIC visited JQW in the past week to review its revised control procedures, and said that whilst it was satisfied with the remedial work the company has done to address the issues concerning its systems and filters, further training of the new staff will be required.

JWQ expects this additional training to take place over the next two weeks, and said it "welcomes the increased investment in the training of its employees which will further increase the company's long term effectiveness."

Shares in JQW were up 2.1% at 6.13 pence Monday afternoon.
