Uniphar reports higher profit and on track to hit 2028 target

(Alliance News) - Uniphar PLC on Tuesday said it remains on track to meet its 2028 profit target after reporting increased earnings for the first half of 2026.

The Dublin-based healthcare services provider said pretax profit for the half-year period ended June 30 was EUR31.1 million, up 8.3% from EUR28.7 million a year earlier, while revenue was EUR1.59 billion, up 7.2% from EUR1.49 billion.

Uniphar Pharma delivered 7.0% organic gross profit growth, supported by continued progress across Global Sourcing and Pharma Services. Uniphar Medtech delivered 9.0% organic gross profit growth, boosted by broad-based demand across its core specialisms. Uniphar Supply Chain & Retail delivered 5.6% organic gross profit growth, while its retail network increased by 30 pharmacies to 512.

Basic earnings per share grew 17% to 7.7 euro cents from 6.6 cents. Adjusted earnings per share grew 11% to 10.9 cents from 9.8 cents.

Uniphar declared an interim dividend of 0.74 cents per share, up 4.2% from 0.71 cents.

Uniphar reported earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of EUR61.1 million, up 6.2% from EUR57.5 million.

Looking ahead, the company said it expects Ebitda growth to accelerate in the second half of 2026, underpinned by ongoing strong trading momentum. Uniphar also said it remains on track to reach EUR200 million in Ebitda by 2028, with at least 80% of growth expected to be organic.

Chief Executive Ger Rabbette said: "We expect to sustain this progress into the second half and remain on track to meet our growth objectives for each of our three divisions for the full year. We also remain confident in our ability to reach our EUR200 million Ebitda target by 2028, with at least 80% of growth expected to be organic."

Uniphar shares were up 0.9% at 358.00 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
