TRADING UPDATES: Journeo, Physiomics and Synectics win contracts

Journeo PLC - Leicestershire-based transport system services provider - Danish unit awarded pact worth GBP1.2 million with the nation's largest privately owned public transport operator Umove. "Under this contract, Journeo will deliver a wide range of its Intelligent Transport Systems and services on approximately 100 buses including passenger counting, real time information, fleet management and infotainment software, voice-over IP communications and AI-powered driver awareness system," Journeo adds.

Physiomics PLC - Oxfordshire, England-based mathematical modelling company focused on aiding development of new therapeutics - Reports new contract with "valued and long-standing client" Numab Therapeutics AG. Modelling and simulation will be used in project to "inform understanding and selection" of clinical dosing for a study on an antibody in Numab's inflammation pipeline.

Synectics PLC - Sheffield, England-based provider of advanced security and surveillance systems - Synectics has been awarded two gaming pacts worth USD3.0 million combined. The first deal, worth USD2.5 million, has been secured at a casino resort located in Manila. That resort has been a customer since 2016. "Synectics will upgrade its proprietary Synergy software and deliver a major refresh of the existing video surveillance infrastructure. The work will involve upgrading critical components of the customer's surveillance system, enhancing its performance, scalability, and long-term resilience. The majority of this contract is expected to be delivered in the company's current financial year," Synectics says. In addition, it wins a USD600,000 contract with a gaming property in Oklahoma, North America.

Vianet Group PLC - Stockton-on-Tees, England-based provider of retail sales and volume monitoring systems - Says "positive momentum" has continued since the time of its full-year results. "Our strategic initiatives and partnerships, together with ongoing investment in our solutions, people and technology, continue to strengthen our customer proposition, enabling the team to reinforce existing relationships, successfully attract new customers, and expand our range of services," Chair James Dickson will say at Vianet's annual general meeting on Wednesday. "The group is strongly positioned for continued growth as we deliver on our long-term strategic plan and explore future strategic opportunities for Vianet."

Strip Tinning Holdings PLC - Birmingham-based supplier of specialist connection systems to the automotive sector - Reports award of UK grant as part of government's 'DRIVE35' funding programme aimed at supporting zero emission vehicle technologies. The grant was awarded alongside a consortium. "Strip Tinning's role in the interconnected cell assembly project is to develop the individual cell sensing and communication to the battery management system, in order to aid battery passport requirements," the company says. "Strip Tinning are very proud to be part of a consortium of such high calibre organisations as Jaguar Land Rover, Warwick Manufacturing Group, Lubricants UK and Novelis." The grant award to Strip is worth GBP857,000.

M Winkworth PLC - London-based franchisor of real estate agencies - Reports an uptick in the sales market in the first half of 2025 "helped Winkworth deliver a strong performance". M Winkworth says network sales revenue climbs roughly 25% on-year in the first half, helped by a strong March. "While Q1 2025 sales benefited from an acceleration of activity prior to the reduction in the stamp duty exemption threshold for first time buyers as of April 2025, interest remained buoyant in Q2 2025," it adds. "As a counterbalance to this, lettings activity was more subdued, with network management and letting revenue up by approximately 3% over the period." M Winkworth expects 2025 pretax profit in line with market expectations of GBP2.6 million, a rise on the GBP2.4 million achieved in 2024.

Novacyt SA - biotechnology group focused on clinical diagnostics - Reports launch of LightBench Discover instrument for genomic research labs. The product is a "3-in-1" offering that replaces the need for multiple instruments in labs conducting long-read sequencing. "Researchers benefit from a cost-effective, high-performance system that enhances efficiency, whilst eliminating the need to invest in multiple instruments with separate service contracts and software platforms," Novacyt says.

Hemogenyx Pharmaceuticals PLC - London-headquartered biopharmaceutical company focused on treatments for blood diseases - Awarded USD120,000 grant to support optimisation and scale-up of the manufacturing process for lead product candidate HG-CT-1. HG-CT-1 is currently in a phase 1 trial in some adult sufferers of myeloid leukaemia. ScaleReady is a joint venture between Bio-Techne Corp and Wilson Wolf Manufacturing.

EnergyPathways PLC - West Sussex, England-based energy infrastructure project company - Has entered a deal with Hazer Group Ltd for a clean hydrogen development facility. The firm and Hazer will finalise an agreement on concept engineering studies "for a Hazer licensed facility". The facility is to have an indicative hydrogen production capacity of 90 megawatts. "The planned MESH hydrogen facility will enable the company to supply decarbonised energy in the UK and mitigate scope 3 emissions," EnergyPathways adds.

EnQuest PLC - oil and gas company with operations in the UK and Malaysia - Awarded production sharing agreement for Block C in Brunei, by the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam. EnQuest initially be the sole operator of the PSA. It intends to subsequently form a 50-50 joint-venture Brunei Energy Exploration Sdn Bhd. "Once established, the JV will assume the role of operator for Block C and focus on finalising the Merpati field development plan with a view to achieving a final investment decision within the next two years. It is expected that the capital project will commence in 2027, with first gas from the field to be online in 2029," EnQuest adds. Block C hosts the "condensate-rich gas discovered fields of Merpati, Meragi and Juragan".

Empire Metals Ltd - explorer and resource developer, currently focused on the Pitfield titanium project in Western Australia - Adds "several strategic technical appointments" to aid its Pitfield titanium project in Western Australia. Appointments include a new study manager, Alan Rubio, who brings "over 28 years' experience working within the resources sector". Pocholo Aviso is made hydro-metallurgist, managing the titanium product development programme. Aviso will have a focus on "product optimisation, process flowsheet designs and evaluating market pathways". "These appointments coincide with the commencement of bulk-scale metallurgical testing, a critical step in progressing Pitfield toward commercial development," Empire adds.
