(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of updates by London-listed companies, issued on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:
----------
Fulcrum Metals PLC - mineral explorer in Canada - Begins exploration programme on its Saskatchewan uranium portfolio, currently under option to Terra North Resources Corp, a subsidiary spin-out of Terra Balcanica Resources Corp. Says Terra North has engaged Special Projects Inc to undertake a high-resolution airborne radiometric and magnetic survey over the Charlot-Neely Lake uranium project, 20 kilometres north of Uranium City along the northwestern margin of Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin. Calls this "a new phase" of exploration across Fulcrum's Saskatchewan uranium portfolio. The programme is fully funded by Terra North, with expenditure to qualify towards Terra North's minimum cumulative CAD3.25 million exploration expenditure commitment under its option agreement with Fulcrum. "Fulcrum retains significant exposure to the advancement of the portfolio through its existing and potential equity interests in Terra North, further potential cash and equity consideration under the option, and a 1.0% net smelter return royalty upon exercise of the option," company says.

Global Opportunities Trust PLC - aims to provide shareholders with an attractive real long-term total return by investing globally in undervalued asset classes - Net asset value per share falls 1.1% to 397.3 pence at Jun 30 from 401.9p at December 31. NAV total return in the first half is just 1.5%, compared to its FTSE All-World Index benchmark's return of 12.9%. Says the outlook for the global economy and world asset markets "is probably as opaque as it has been in generations." Adds: "Economically, the world continues with a substantial public debt overhang and no obvious policy actions which would provide a path for its reduction. This combines with persistent inflation such that the bond markets are beginning to extract a higher price." Positively, notes the AI buildout and a "robust" US economy and equity market, but notes questions around the bull market's sustainability. "Against this backdrop, equity markets have remained robust even if somewhat narrowly - based in terms of performance. The portfolio manager continues to adopt an approach where modest returns can be made even during periods where concerns remain over valuations, but with a portfolio that should provide protection in the event of the underlying economic issues pre-empting a market downturn."

Capricorn Energy PLC - Edinburgh-based fuel producer and Genel Energy PLC - exploration and oil production company with production assets in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and exploration assets in Oman and Somaliland - Genel notes requirement to transfer its listing category to the equity shares (commercial companies) category from the equity shares (transition) category. Anticipated that this will take place on or as soon as practicable its merger with capriorn is made effective. On Tuesday, Capricorn shareholders approved a recommended cash acquisition by Genel. In July, Genel announced a USD360 million cash offer for Capricorn at USD4.74 per share. This comprises USD3.75 in cash and an intended special dividend of USD0.99. Capricorn expects the scheme to become effective in the second half of 2026.

The second tranche comprises GBP13.9 million from the National Wealth Fund and USD9.1 million, approximately GBP6.7 million, from Vision Blue. Funding is to help "maintain the pace of development at South Crofty," company says. Progress at South Crofty continues, including discussions with strategic offtakers and institutional investors regarding the funding package for the project's development. Chief Executive Don Turvey says: "Drawing the second tranche keeps South Crofty moving at pace while we finalise the longer-term funding package on terms that are favourable for investors. Maintaining momentum on-site is essential as we continue to advance South Crofty towards a restart of tin production. The availability of this tranche reflects the continued backing of our two largest shareholders."
