TRADING UPDATES: East Star Verkhuba update; BSF distribution deal

11th Aug 2026 18:23

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of updates by London-listed companies, issued on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

CelLBxHealth PLC - Guildford, England-based liquid biopsy company - Announces the publication of a peer-reviewed study in JCO Precision Oncology on Parsortix-enriched circulating tumour cells in patients with glioblastoma, a malignant primary brain tumour, in adults. Says researchers in Italy use its Parsortix platform to enrich CTCs from blood samples taken from 27 patients with glioblastoma, alongside healthy controls and non-glioblastoma brain lesion cases. Key findings include the first proposed numerical CTC threshold for GBM, where over 4 CTCs per 5 millilitres of blood helps distinguish patients with primary GBM from healthy controls, with 80% sensitivity and 77.3% specificity. Additionally, the study shows Parsortix-enriched CTCs contain tumour-related mutations and chromosomal changes also seen in matched tumour tissue, "indicating that the captured cells reflected the patient's tumour biology". Adds: "Although GBM rarely spreads outside the brain, this study adds to growing evidence that tumour-derived cells can be detected in the blood, opening the potential for minimally invasive molecular insight into GBM biology."

Meridian Mining PLC - London-based company focused on the Cabacal gold-copper project in Brazil - Drills multiple stacked layers of gold-copper-silver & zinc-lead VMS mineralisation below Santa Helena, further extending volcanogenic massive sulfide. Santa Helena is located 10 kilometres south-east of the advanced Cabacal gold-copper-silver project located in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Drillhole CD-878 returns 11.3 metres at 0.8 grammes per tonne gold, 0.2% Cu, 17.6g/t silver, 3.4% zinc & 0.6% lead from 199.8 metres, including an interval containing visible gold. Says CD-878 then intercepts a lower layer of copper-dominant VMS mineralisation returning 1.7m at 0.9% copper, 0.1g/t gold and 8.3g/t silver. "CD-878's upper zone is interpreted as a 90m down-dip 'widening extension' to the previously reported CD-869 intersection of 7.2m at 1.4g/t gold, 0.1% copper, 24.3g/t silver, 2.3% zinc & 0.9% lead," Meridian says. "Drilling across the greater Santa Helena system continues. In addition, the first reconnaissance programmes across the Jauru and Araputanga portfolio of highly prospective exploration licences have commenced," it adds.

----------

Harena Rare Earths PLC - developing Ampasindava ionic clay rare earth project in northern Madagascar - Signs the 'cahier des charges minieres' with Madagascar's Ministry of Mines. The agreement formalises technical, financial, environmental and social commitments under the country's mining code. Says the CCM "framework unlocks the next development phase, including the proof of concept pilot plant and an onsite laboratory, alongside continued technical studies and project development activities." Harena now turns to environmental and social studies, stakeholder engagement and public consultation to secure an environmental permit.

----------

East Star Resources PLC - Kazakhstan-focused copper and gold explorer - Updates on its ongoing diamond drilling programme at the Verkhuba Copper Deposit, under joint venture with Hong Kong Xinhai Mining Services Ltd. Seven diamond drill holes and over 1,350 metres have now been completed. A second diamond drill rig has been mobilised to site. Additionally, East Star says Xinhai has now completed its full stage 1 investment obligations totalling AUD1.5 million, entitling it to an initial 15% of the JV. East Star says it remains fully carried through to production under the terms of the JV, at which point it will retain a 30% interest in the producing mine. Chief Executive Alex Walker says: "The Verkhuba JV work programme is progressing rapidly, with both operational and corporate workstreams advancing as planned. These milestones complete the establishment phase of the JV and allow the partners to focus entirely on advancing Verkhuba towards resource conversion, feasibility studies and ultimately production."

----------

BSF Enterprise PLC - London-based biotechnology investment group - Executes heads of terms establishing a worldwide, exclusive commercialisation and supply partnership for its proprietary bioactive peptide, ETSYL, with Schakau Managementberatung GmbH. Schakau is granted exclusive global commercialisation, distribution, and licensing rights for ETSYL across the cosmetics, skincare, dermocosmetics, and luxury beauty sectors for an initial target-linked term of 10 years.

----------

Sunrise Resources PLC - focused on industrial mineral projects in Nevada - Government of Western Australia grants prospecting licence 51/3378 covering the high-grade gold target at the Bakers Gold Project. The licence is granted for an initial four-year term to August 2030, renewable for a further 4 years. "The Bakers Project is a valuable asset for the company and our past expenditure on this project, just over GBP162,000, does not reflect in our balance sheet having been written off in 2022 following the end of our previous tenure over the area. After years of impasse, our exploration rights are now secure and the company is free to resume exploration of this exciting project and to follow-up on our previous high-grade gold drilling results. Since we last drilled at Bakers, there have been a number of new gold discoveries in this part of the Murchison Greenstone Belt which add to the overall prospectivity of the Bakers Project," says Chair Patrick Cheetham.

Uru Metals Ltd - developer of the Zeb nickel project in South Africa - Continues to progress its 3D geological and geophysical modelling programme at the Zeb Nickel Project in Limpopo, South Africa. The programme brings together the project's drill hole database, geological interpretation, airborne magnetics, gravity and SpectremPlus electromagnetic data, together with the recently completed ground frequency-domain electromagnetic and gravity surveys, into a single 3D geological model, Uru says. The work is being undertaken by Atticus Geoscience. Exploration manager Richard Montjoie comments: "Zeb is really starting to come together properly in 3D. We can now see the strongest EM responses sitting in the same geological corridor as the Critical Zone and the semi-massive sulphides we have already intersected. What is particularly interesting is Target 1, where a discrete conductor sits at the point where the interpreted chonolith opens into the larger intrusive body. Geologically, that is exactly the sort of position we want to test for sulphide accumulation. Atticus is now building the mineralised envelope from the drilling and comparing it directly with the airborne and ground EM. That should give us a much better way of targeting the next holes. We have two clear objectives: build the higher-grade Zone 2 mineralisation towards a maiden resource, and drill Target 1 to test whether the conductor represents a concentration of semi-massive to massive sulphides."

----------

Hemogenyx Pharmaceuticals PLC - London-headquartered biopharmaceutical company focused on treatments for blood diseases - Signs a definitive collaboration agreement with Estonian cell therapy company Cellin Technologies OU for the manufacturing and clinical implementation of its HG-CT-1 CAR-T cell therapy for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukaemia under the hospital exemption framework in Estonia. The agreement converts into binding commitments the non-binding letter of intent announced in September 2025. Says it marks "a significant step toward the generation of the company's first revenues from HG-CT-1." The pathway permits the use of advanced therapy medicinal products that have not yet received a commercial marketing authorisation. "The framework also allows innovators to apply for reimbursement of the cost of treatment of patients insured within the Estonian national social security system through the Estonian Health Insurance Fund," Hemogenyx adds.

----------

Oriole Resources PLC - West and Central Africa-focused gold explorer - Updates on its 90% owned eastern central licence package in Cameroon, which comprises four licences: Ndom, Pokor, Niambaram, and Tenekou, and the neighbouring Western Central Licence Package, which comprises the Mana, Sanga and Dogon licences. The Eastern CLP is contiguous with the company's 50%-owned Mbe licence, which has an inferred mineral resource of 1.66 million ounces gold. Says further exploration at Niambaram identifies three main mineralised areas with results of up to 28.40 grams of gold per tonne. Mineralisation is associated with NW-trending quartz veins and NE-trending brecciated felsic dykes within orthogneiss, with the geological setting comparable to Mbe. At Ndom, an infill soil and auger sampling programme has been completed at the ND01 target, with results pending. Says analysis of samples from Niambaram and Ndom is expected later in 2026 using Portable PPB's detectORE technology. Oriole's Western CLP licences have been revoked following previous access issues and are unlikely to return to the Mining Cadastre due to competing interests from hunting concessions. Says it had committed minimal funding to these licences prior to their voluntary suspension in 2023.
