(Alliance News) - James Fisher & Sons PLC on Friday said it has appointed Spectris PLC Business Group Director Eoghan O'Lionaird as its new chief executive.
O'Lionaird will join the board of the marine services provider in September, though he will not become CEO until October 1.
He will succeed current CEO Nick Henry, who has held the role for 15 years and announced his intention to retire in December 2018. Henry will step down from the board but will stay employed at James Fisher until March 31, 2020.
O'Lionaird has been both divisional CEO and an executive committee member at FTSE 250 precision instrumentation and control company Spectris. According to Spectris website, O'Lionaird serves as business group director, responsible for the firm's Materials Analysis and Test & Measurement segments.
James Fisher Chair Malcolm Paul said: "After a thorough search process, I am delighted that Eoghan O'Lionaird has agreed to join James Fisher as its new CEO. Eoghan has gained significant business experience in growing decentralised businesses both through organic and acquisitive strategies."
