5th Oct 2018 17:36

LONDON (Alliance News) - Comcast Corp said on Friday it has raised USD26.9 billion through an underwritten offering of several bond notes, launched on Tuesday.

Proceeds will go towards paying the cash payment for valid acceptances of the GBP30.6 billion offer for FTSE 100 media company Sky PLC, settle market purchases of Sky shares and pay related fees and expenses.

Comcast may also use a portion of the proceeds to repay outstanding commercial paper and amounts drawn under its revolving facility agreement.

On Tuesday, the US telecoms company raised the value of its "blockbuster" bond sale, initially marketed at USD20 billion, making its the fourth largest bond sale on record, the Financial Times reported.

Shares in Sky closed flat at 1,726.00 pence on Friday.
