Tomahawk Metals identifies new gold targets at Saturn project

12th Aug 2026 13:29

(Alliance News) - Tomahawk Metals PLC on Wednesday said a site visit to its new Saturn Gold Project in Western Australia identified three prospective areas for gold, with extensive evidence of historical exploration activity.

The London-incorporated critical minerals and precious metals company that trades on the Aquis Stock Exchange said satellite imagery and historical records identified trenching, costeans and shallow shafts across the four-block exploration licence.

Tomahawk said its Perth-based director Keith Coughlan collected rock-chip samples to assess the extent and potential grade of gold mineralisation. The samples have been sent to independent laboratory Intertek Minerals in Perth for analysis.

The company said historical workings had been identified along iron-oxide-rich quartz veins, with trace sulphides observed in some rock-chip samples.

Quartz veining and associated historical workings extend over about 450 metres of strike, Tomahawk said. The company said the vein trend had not been adequately tested by modern exploration.

Tomahawk said its preliminary interpretation is that the prospect could represent a structurally controlled quartz-vein gold system consistent with Archaean orogenic gold mineralisation, but cautioned that further mapping, geochemical sampling and drilling is required.

Historical records for the St Clair workings show small-scale production of about 266 tonnes at an average grade of 12.03 grams of gold per tonne, producing about 3.2 kilograms, or 103 ounces, of gold.

Tomahawk said assay results from the recent rock-chip sampling will be used to assess the gold potential of the vein systems and guide further exploration and potential drilling.

Shares in Tomahawk Metals on the Aquis Stock Exchange were flat at 1.025 pence each on Wednesday afternoon in London.
