(Alliance News) - Tekcapital PLC on Monday said its portfolio company Innovative Eyewear Inc has agreed a deal with Taiwanese electronics manufacturer HTC Corp.
The London-based intellectual property investor said the deal centres on the US commercialisation of the Vive Eagle smart eyewear range in the US, launching in September.
VIVE Eagle glasses are AI camera eyewear with voice activation, music playback and AI recording and translation through HTC's VIVE Connect app. They will be sold through Lucyd.co with US prescription lens fulfilment available at launch.
The VIVE Eagle will be the second Red Dot-winning smart frame available through Lucyd.co. Innovative Eyewear currently sells smart eyewear under the Lucyd, Lucyd Armor, Nautica, Eddie Bauer and Reebok brands.
Earlier in August, Tekcapital reported results for the six months ended June 30. Net assets rose to USD201.7 million from USD55.1 million at December 31, while net asset value per share increased to USD0.78 from USD0.27.
Its investment portfolio was valued at USD191.4 million at June 30, up from USD46.9 million at the end of 2025. Portfolio returns and revenue surged to USD145.5 million from USD6.1 million a year earlier, while operating expenses fell 7.3% to USD690,000.
Tekcapital shares were down 5.1% to 3.42 pence on Monday afternoon in London.
