(Alliance News) - Tekcapital PLC on Friday announced that its portfolio company Guident has signed an agreement with Coastal Waste & Recycling, providing it with WatchBot robots, an AI software platform and operational support.
The London-based intellectual property investor said under the agreement, the robots will conduct autonomous patrols and inspections across Coastal Waste's more than 40 sites throughout Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
Additionally, Guident's AI software platform will analyse collected data and carry out a host of site-specific safety routines.
These include fire detection, equipment checks, asset damage identification and tank cage checks.
Tekcapital Executive Chair Clifford Gross said the company was excited by "Guident's continued commercial progress" and "anticipate[s] continued revenue growth."
Separately, Tekcapital announced that Innovative Eyewear Inc, another of its portfolio companies, has developed new features for its smart eyewear products, delivered via the Lucyd app.
The primary new update is the addition of the Newscast widget, which allows users to create custom, generative AI news reports to be read out on Lucyd eyewear. The update also includes Gemini integration, multimodal AI and Android upgrades.
Harrison Gross, CEO of Innovative Eyewear, said: "We look forward to continuing to add more features to the Lucyd app, to make our glasses an ever-more customisable tool for our customers."
The London-based intellectual property investor said Innovative Eyewear had developed new AI features for its Lucyd smart eyewear, including custom AI-generated news reports, Gemini integration and multimodal AI.
In early August, Tekcapital said its net assets rose to USD201.7 million at June 30 from USD55.1 million at December 31, while portfolio returns and revenue jumped to USD145.5 million from USD6.1 million a year earlier. It owns 259,455 shares in Innovative Eyewear.
Shares in Tekcapital were up 2.0% to 3.57 pence on Friday in London.
