Talon Resources says Eagle Lake drilling to start in September

25th Aug 2026 13:46

(Alliance News) - Talon Resources PLC on Tuesday said preparations for its maiden diamond drilling programme at the Eagle Lake gold project in Ontario, Canada, have been completed.

The London-based gold exploration company said drilling is expected to start in the first half of September.

Talon holds a 90% interest in Wedgetail Mining Corp, which owns the Eagle Lake mining claims, with the remaining 10% held by Gunsynd PLC.

Following strong sampling results, the programme was brought forward from the fourth quarter and expanded from an initial 1,000 metres to 1,375 metres. These included 1.85 metres at 7.17 grams of gold per tonne at East Fornieri Bay and 4.80 metres at 4.47 grams per tonne at the same target.

The programme will be comprised of 11 holes across four priority target areas. Drilling will target East Fornieri Bay, West Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and Moss Knoll, Talon said.

Talon said MINML's PRISM machine learning platform had been used to refine target selection and drill-hole placement. All four targets selected for drilling rank within the top 1.5% of the model's predicted prospectivity.

The programme is fully funded and permitted, the company added. Drilling will be managed by Critical Discoveries Corp and Rodren Drilling Ltd.

Shares in Talon Resources were 0.4% lower at 1.27 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.
